Nayak murder: Case against Cong MLA, kins
Tikamgarh, MP, Nov 28 (UNI) On the complaint of slain BJP MLA Sunil Nayak's son, police have registered a case of murder against Congress MLA Brajendra Singh Rathore, his brother Vinay Singh and 10 other members of his family.
A case under Sections 302, 307, 347 and 148 of IPC was registered at Prithvipur police station last night on the complaint of 18-year-old Anurag Nayak.
The BJP candidate was shot dead yesterday following an altercation with his Congress rival Brajendra Singh Rathore's younger brother Yashpal Singh over booth capturing at Nayakhera at the outskirts of Prithvipur after the close of poll.
Mr Nayak was taken to Jhansi Medical College in a critical condition, where he was declared brought dead.
A minister in the Uma Bharti cabinet, Mr Nayak is survived by his father Jagdish Sharan Nayak (70), wife Anita (49), son Anurag (18) and two daughters-- Nidhi (15) and Gudia (12).
Indefinite curfew was clamped in Prithvipur after the fatal attack on Mr Nayak and tension prevailed in his native town Jatara also.
Enraged people attempted to vandalise Mr Rathore's house and petrol pump at Prithvipur. Besides, municipal council president Sanjay Garg's house was also ransacked.
