Indian Navy commandos rescue 200 foreigners including Taj's Managing Director

Mumbai, Nov.28 : Two hundred foreigners along with the Managing Director of the Taj Hotel have been rescued in a Indian Navy-led operation at the new Taj building and at least four Chinese made hand grenades, seven A.K.47 magazines, have been recovered from the Taj.

The Marine Commandos of the Indian Navy today held a news conference and briefed media at 1.00 p.m on Friday about the operation at the Taj hotel.

"About 200 foreign guests along the Managing Director of Taj have been rescued at the new Taj building. Twenty five to thirty employees of Taj have been rescued. There are several dead bodies inside Taj," said the Operation chief of MARCOS

MARCOS (also known as MCF) is an elite naval special operations unit of the Indian Navy. The acronyms refer to Marine Commandos and Marine Commando Force respectively.

"Terrorists didn't let us enter the CCTV room. They had the hotel's layout which we hadn't. They were highly trained. Two rug sacks have been recovered containing plastic explosives, seven credit cards, 12,000 US dollars and Rs.6,800 of Indian currency. The plastic explosives (PE) are considered highly dangerous and powerful," he said.

" At least four Chinese made hand grenades, seven A.K.47 magazines, have been recovered from the Taj. There were explosives in Taj," he informed.

"The bags contained identity cards of Mauritious and Mauritious government. The bags also contained dryfruits," said the jet black-dressed chief of the operation, maintaining his identity hidden by a covered face.
