Mumbai terror: FICCI lauds efforts of security forces
New Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) Lauding the efforts of security forces in combating violence unleashed by Fidayeen in Mumbai, FICCI today expressed the hope that business in the commercial hub of the country will soon bounce back.
It said Mumbai as the earlier experience shows would serve as a role model of how normalcy is restored.
''Though this terrorist attack will have a temporary setback to business in certain sectors in Mumbai such as hotels, tourism and Corporate Conclaves...the businesses of Mumbai will bounce back and show determined leadership in restoring normalcy,'' the chamber said in a statement.
It said the attack, however, clearly demonstrates the need for strong and urgent action on behalf of the government.
The chamber said in the statement that it looks forward to the Prime Minister's commitment in creating a Federal Investigation Agency which has greater powers and reach and a movement towards tougher anti-terrorist laws.
The chamber also supported the need for Mumbai and other major cities to build on an effective counter force like the National Security Guard to be able to meet such challenges immediately.
