Shillong, Nov 28 (UNI) Meghalaya Speaker Bindo M Lanong has decided to summon two legislators for ''assaulting'' and ''intimidating'' road labourers and a Personal Security Officer (PSO).

Meghalaya Mining and Geology Minister Donkupar Massar is charged with assaulting and intimidating four labourers in Borsora, West Khasi Hills district and also Wallambok Lyngdoh, Pongtung village headman, East Khasi Hills district, while Adolf Lu Hitler Marak is alleged to have assaulted his PSO constable S Lyngdoh on November 12.

'' There is a need to call both the legislators and warned them not to repeat similar acts in future,'' Mr Lanong told reporters on the sidelines of launching '' Mawphor Today,'' a new local daily here, today.

The Speaker assured that his office will not shield both the legislators, if they found guilty during the course of police investigation.

'' Police have already informed about both the cases and I have no objections with their investigation,'' Mr Lanong said.

In the just concluded Assembly session, Chief Minister Donkupar Massar assured the members of the House that there will be no pressure from any quarter to shelve the cases against Mr Massar, and investigation will proceed strictly in compliance with the law.

Two separate FIRs have been filed against Mr Massar in Ranikor police station in West Khasi Hills and Pynursla in East Khasi Hills district.

Mr Massar, however, had secured anticipatory bail from Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council Court with the case related to the alleged assault by him on four road construction labourers on October 3 and 4.

On the other hand, the senior NCP legislator expressed surprise on the FIR filed by his PSO against him on charges of assaulting and intimidating.

''I don't know why he (PSO) filed an FIR after so many days. Yes, there maybe an ulterior motive behind it. But, if anyone, can prove I am guilty, I will step down,'' Mr Hitler said.

The PSO constable had filed an FIR against the senior NCP legislator at Sadar Police station and police registered a case under sections 324 and 506, IPC.
