Melbourne, Nov 28 : Hugh Jackman, who's been voted the Sexiest Man Alive, has said that he takes it as a compliment when people say that he's gay.
In a recent interview with MTV, Jackman said he didn't mind the rumours about his sexuality, which first began circulating after he played Peter Allen in The Boy from Oz musical.
"I just think the whole idea of judging someone based on their sexuality is ridiculous. In Australia, we're much easier on all those fronts. I was playing a gay guy. I actually took it as a compliment," News.com.au quoted him, as saying.
The 'Australia' actor said that he is a 'leech and vulture' when it comes to chasing the opposite sex.
Jackman described how he used to meet girls as a teenager by going to parties where there were a majority of gay guys.
"I probably shouldn't be saying this, but I remember when I was about 19, me and my mate used to go to these dance parties which were 80 per cent gay guys, 18 per cent girls who were sick of heterosexual guys hitting on them, and then vultures like me and my mate," he said.
"We would go there until two in the morning, when the girls were really drunk and wishing they weren't with 80 per cent gay guys," he added.
