Four-member family injured in bomb attack in TN
Kancheepuram (Tamil Nadu), Nov 28 (UNI) Four members of a family were injured in a petrol bomb attack that took place right opposite to the residence of the Kancheepuram District Superintendent of Police, in early today.
Police said a gang, which came in a car hurled petrol bombs at the residence of Kumar (40), who was running a fast food outlet at the Kancheepuram Bus stand, injuring him, his wife Dhanalakshmi (30), and their sons Santhan Saranya (12) and Monish (eight).
They were initially treated at the Kancheepuram Government Hospital, from where they were shifted to the Sri Ramachandra Medical Hospital at Porur in Chennai for advanced treatment.
Police suspect that previous enmity might be the reason for the attack.
The gang came in a car, bolted the front door from outside, gained entry into the house through the rearside kitchen, and hurled two petrol bombs on the four, who were sleeping.
As fire engulfed the house, fire service personnel rescued the injured and put out the fire. A major portion of the house was damaged in the fire.
The incident sent shock waves in this temple town as it took place right opposite to the residence of District SP K Periaiah.
Kancheepuram Taluk police have registered a case.
