London, Nov 28 (UNI) Alarmed by the terror attacks in Mumbai, England captain Kevin Pietersen has warned that the visitors may not return to India if the security situation does not improve.

England has already pulled out of the remaining two ODIs of the seven-match series and the fate of the Test series is also in doubt.

''We need to make sure the security's right - but if it's not safe then we won't be coming back,'' Pietersen was quoted as saying by the 'Guardian'.

''People are their own people, I'll never force anyone to do anything or tell them to do anything against their will. On the field I may ask people to do things in a certain way but people run their own lives. We'll have to see how the security is.'' England are scheduled to return for the Test series, which is due to begin in Ahmedabad on December 11. The second Test is in Mumbai - although the venue for the final Test may be moved after the attacks.

The English squad will fly to Bangalore later today to meet up with the Performance Programme squad, who will then join the main squad and return to London, while talks continue between the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about the resumption of the tour.

The terror attacks in Mumbai have also affected the Twenty20 Champions League, which has been pushed back to early next year.
