Jalandhar, Nov 28 (UNI) Adampur in this district was the coldest place in Punjab, as early morning fog engulfed parts of the border state resulting in vehicular traffic moving at a slow pace.
The night temperature at Adampur plummeted to 4.6 degrees celsius, three degress below normal. The minimum at Adampur yesterday was 6.3 degrees.
However, the night temperature in the holy city of Amritsar rose marginally and was recorded at 6.0 degrees, one degree below normal.
The minimum at Halwara in Ludhiana district was recorded at 7.4 degrees while in the border town of Pathankot it was 7.8 degrees Celsius.
The minimum at Bathinda in the Malwa belt rose by two degrees from yesterday and was recorded at 10.0 degrees. The minimum at Chandigarh was 9.0 degrees.
The Met office at the Air Force station at Adampur has predicted clear sky tomorrow with fog and haze in the morning hours. The night temperatures are likely to remain more or less the same.
