Tarigami injured in Kashmir road accident
Srinagar, Nov 27 (UNI) State secretary of the CPI(M) Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, his driver and two police officials were today injured when the car in which they were travelling was hit by a truck on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, official sources said.
They said Mr Tarigami was on way to south Kashmir for campaigning in favour of party candidates when his car was hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction at Jawbara, Awantipora, about 15 km from here in the Pulwama district.
Mr Tarigami, his driver, liaison officer and Personnel Security Officer (PSO) were injured.
The injured were admitted to the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) at Soura.
The CPI(M) has decided to contest from six assembly segments.
Mr Tarigami is seeking re-election from the Kulgam constituency in south Kashmir.
The Congress has announced that it would not put up any candidate against him.
