Tirupati, Nov 27 (UNI) Evangelist and Praja Santhi (PS) Party founder K A Paul today said he was holding talks with Naxalites and terrorists for maintaining peace in the country.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr paul said he held peace talks with Naxalites earlier on a request by Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Jana Reddy and as a result, hundreds of Naxals surrendered.
Condemning the terrorist attacks at five-star hotels in Mumbai, he alleged the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre had failed on every front, including combatting terrorism in the country.
UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and AP Chief Minister Rajashekara Reddy were busy with the coming Lok Sabha elections, instead of concentrating on preventing terrorism, he charged.
Expressing deep condolences to the families of police officials killed in the attacks, he said his team was already coordinating in providing assistance to the bereaved families. The party would extend all support, including financial assistance, to the families of the deceased police officials.
He said he would leave for Mumbai tomorrow evening to hold talks with the concerned officials over the situation.
The Congress would be ''buried'' in the ensuing elections in AP 2009, he claimed.
