State secretary of CPI-M Targami injured in Kashmir road accident
Srinagar, Nov 27 (UNI) State secretary of the Communist Party of India (M) was today injured when his car was hit by a truck on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, official sources said.
They said Mr Targami was on way to south Kashmir for campaigning in favour of party candidates when his car was hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction at Lathpora, about 15 km from here today.
Mr Targami was rushed to the hospital, they said.
The CPI(M) has decided to contest from six assembly segments.
Mr Targami is seeking re-election from Kulgam constituency in south Kashmir.
The Congress has announced that they will not put up any candidate against him.
