Hyderabad, Nov 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Governor N D Tiwari expressed shock over the demise of former Prime Minister Vishwanath Pratap Singh.
In a message, he said ''I am deeply grieved at the passing away of V P Singh. He had been my close colleague in Uttar Pradesh politics, as the President of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, when I happened to be the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
''Singh extended his support to me during his Prime Ministership.
He, with the cooperation of other political parties including Congress, tried to implement the Mandal Commission Report, meant for the Backward Classes. When I established the 'Manthan' forum to discuss matters of importance on local, state and international affairs, he agreed to serve as its secretary,'' he said.
''I convey my heart-felt condolences to the members of the bereaved family especially Rani Sahiba of Manda and Shri Ajeya and Abhay Singh,'' he added.
