Lucknow, Nov 27 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today condemned the terrorist attacks in the country's economic hub Mumbai and demanded stern action against the culprits.
Ms Mayawati appealed to the political parties to shed their differences and be united in this critical situation before the country. The CM also urged the political parties not to rake up issues to derive political mileage at this juncture.
Addressing a press conference here, Ms Mayawati, paying homage to the martyr police officials and common people, who died in the ghastly terrorist attacks, said the incident was of great concern for the country. ''The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the UP government condemns the attacks,'' she added.
Refusing to say anything on the failure of the intelligence in connection with the attacks, she said any reaction could only be made after the entire operation was complete and the terrorists were flushed out.
The CM also said UP government might consider for a central agency to deal with terrorism. ''There are discussion about the agency, but the state was yet to receive any details on the issue from the Centre,'' Ms Mayawati added.
