New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) Rashtriya Janata Dal president and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today condemned the terror attacks in Mumbai and asked the people of the metropolis to unitedly defeat the nefarious designs of terrorists.
Talking to the media after attending the meeting of the Union Cabinet, Mr Prasad said that this kind of terror attack had come as a major shock as the targets chosen by the militants were important places like the Taj Hotel where even foreigners come and stayed. He said the safety of the hostages held by the terrorists was the prime concern at present.
Expressing grief over the loss of lives, including that of three top officiers of the Mumbai police, the RJD leader said the operation was still continuing and it was difficult to say who was behind this terror attack and what was the objective.
He said the Army and NSG commandos were trying to flush out the terrorists and Home Minister Shivraj Patil had visited the megapolis. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was in touch with the Chief Minister and he would also visit Mumbai soon.
However, Mr Prasad urged the people of Mumbai to remain united.
