HC directs Sacha Sauda head to appear at Punjab Police HQ
Chandigarh, Nov 27 (UNI) Punjab and Haryana High Court today directed Dera Sacha Sauda head Ram Rahim Singh to appear at Punjab police headquarters here on December 3 for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikh community by donning a robe similar to that of 10th Guru Gobind Singh.
Justice A N Jindal gave the order on the plea of the accused to confirm the anticipatory bail granted to him in connection with the case registered against him at Bathinda on May 20, 2007, under sections 153, 153-A and 295.
During the hearing, Punjab Additional Advocate General Naresh Kumar Sanghi pleaded for custodial interrogation of the accused, saying he was not co-operating in the investigation and the police needed to ascertain some fact from him in the case.
