CPI condoles death of former PM V P Singh
New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) The Communist Party of India today condoled the death of former Prime Minister V P Singh, calling him an undaunted champion of the cause of oppressed masses.
The CPI, in a press release issued here, said during the tenure of V P Singh as Prime Minister, he had taken a number of steps to ameliorate the distress of common people.
In the subsequent period of his life, he relentlessly fought communalism, all forms of divisive forces and stood by the interest of the 'common man'. He was one of the rarest politicians, who, during his stay in office, did not forget the mandate of electorates.
It was a matter of shame that the Congress and the BJP had worked together to remove him from office, the release added.
