Choice between Krejza, Hauritz just before tomorrow's Test against Kiwis

By Staff

Sydney, Nov 27 : Australia will play one specialist spinner in the second Test against New Zealand, beginning at Adelaide Oval tomorrow, but the choice between Jason Kreja and Nathan Hauritz would be made known tomorrow morning only, just before the match begins.

Nathan Hauritz has joined the Australian team in Adelaide as injury cover for fellow off-spinner Jason Krejza, whose availability will not be known until tomorrow morning.

According to the Courier Mail, Krejza was unable to train this morning after writhing in pain on the oval outfield when he rolled the ankle on Wednesday. "Jason's going to be given until tomorrow morning to see how he comes up," said captain Ricky Ponting.

The skipper added: "He didn't train today and is still a bit proppy on his ankle and Alex (Kountouris, team physio) is hoping to get him moving around a little this afternoon. If he can't do that he's no chance tomorrow morning, but Nathan Hauritz has been flown in late yesterday afternoon, trained with us this morning, and if Jason doesn't play then Nathan will certainly play, and that'll be the only change we make to the XI."

The probable Australian team is as follows: Ricky Ponting (capt), Matthew Hayden, Simon Katich, Mike Hussey, Michael Clarke, Andrew Symonds, Brad Haddin, Brett Lee, Mitchell Johnson, Stuart Clark, Jason Krejza or Nathan Hauritz, Peter Siddle (12th man).
