Patna, Nov 27 (UNI) The Communist Party of India today condoled the death of former Prime Minister V P Singh, calling him an 'undaunted champion of the cause of oppressed masses'.
CPI general secretary A B Bardhan, in his message said, singh as Prime Minister had taken a number of steps to ameliorate the distress of backward classes and downtrodden.
''In his long political career, Singh had clean track record and not a single charge of corruption was ever levelled against him,'' Mr Bardhan said, adding the leader always emphasised on 'value based politics'.
''In his death, I suffered a great personal loss'' Mr Bardhan noted and prayed to almighty for peace to the departed soul.
