70 killed in terrorist attacks in Mumbai
Mumbai, Nov 26 (UNI) Terror struck the financial capital of India late tonight as more than 70 people, including some policemen, were killed and over 250 injured by terrorists at as many as ten places across the city including the busy Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) and two five-star hotels.
Operations were on to flush out five terrorists who were still holed up at the Taj Mahal Hotel and the Trident Hotel.
Reports also said that two terrorists who attempted to flee the Trident Hotel were gunned down by the police.
Maharashtra Chief Secretary Johny Joseph told newspersons that 40 people were killed and 250 injured in the attacks.
However, sources in the St George Hospital told UNI that more than 66 people were brought dead to the hospital. Whereas casualities were also reported from other hospitals of the city.
Mr Joseph said 200 commandos from the Central government have reached here to assist the city police in flushing out the terrorists.
