7 injured as IAF helicopter crashes in Kanpur
Kanpur, Nov 27 (UNI) Seven Indian Air Force (IAF) personsnel, including crew members, were injured when an IAF helicopter crashed near Bhauti in Panki area here today.
According to police, the IAF helicopter was on a sortie from Gorakhpur to Gwalior when it fell near Steel Authority of India (SAIL) office at Bhauti area.
The injured have been admitted to an IAF hospital.
The incident occurred when the pilot attempted to land the chopper in a safer place after it developed some technical snag.
Senior IAF, police and administrative officers reached the spot and were investigating the case.
In a similar incident only yesterday, a pilot was killed and a Major received critical injuries when an Army helicopter crashed and fell into Ramganga river in Bareilly.
The army chopper named 'cheetah' was on a routine fly from Bareilly situated Army avitation base, when the mishap took place.
