ULFA protest day tomorrow, Assam nervous

Guwahati, Nov 26 (UNI) Assam police was leaving no stone unturned to stop any possible violent act by the ULFA as the latter would observe ''protest day'' tomorrow.

''We have sealed all the routes and brought the security to the maximum level here,'' said Guwahati Senior Superintendent of Police Pradeep Saloi while speaking to media.

The England and Indian cricket teams would arrive tomorrow afternoon and the security forces had been kept on high alert.

After the October 30 blast, security had always been on the maximum alert but the Saturday's one day cricket match had made security apparatus of the state even more cautious.

Meanwhile, the Army recovered one crude bomb from Bhalukjaroni, Solmara near Tezpur and handed the accused, Abitulla Khan, to the state police.

Further, the Army arrested three ''Jehadi'' elements from Dalgaon in Morigaon district today and received one SLR, one pistol and four Magazines.
