Security in capital intensified in wake of Mumbai firing
New Delhi, Nov 26 (UNI) In the wake of firing in Mumbai at three places -- Colaba, Nariman Point and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus -- security in the capital was tightened.
Senior police official said all vital installation, including the Metro, have been secured with additional forces and extra deployments.
''We have stepped up vigil and patrolling all over the capital and intensified other necessary security measures. Also all border entry points, ISBTs, Railway Stations have been asked to remain alert,'' said a senior security officer.
Stop and check measures at various points have been initiated and sensitive areas put under extra surveillance, he said.
Besides this, police pickets at vantage points and additional security at government administrative blocks was reinforced.
As an additional precautionary measure the officials added the security around several VVIP was stepped up.
''We will be reviewing the situation tomorrow for any additional requirement,'' they said.
