Metro urged to run service from 0400 hrs on Election Day
New Delhi, Nov 26 (UNI) Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Satbir Silas Bedi has requested the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to run its services as early as 0400 hrs on Election Day, that is November 29, so that people who have been assigned election duties can reach their respective polling booths before 0800 hrs when the polling gets underway .
The DMRC has yet to respond to the request.
Ms Bedi has also asked employees working at liquor shops to keep an eye on those who from today are buying more than four bottles of liquor so that its illegal distribution can be stopped, an election official said.
November 27, 29 and December 8 will be observed as dry days.
