Lucknow, Nov 26: People have started feeling the chill in the air with a gradual fall in the mercury in Uttar Pradesh.
The days started with mist, but the rest of it saw bright and sunny weather.
As per the Meteorological department, weather was mainly dry in the state in the last 24 hours. Night temperature rose markedly in Meerut division, rose in Kanpur division and changed little in the remaining regions of UP.
On the other side, day temperature was appreciably below normal in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Kanpur and Agra and were normal elsewhere.
Lowest night temperature plain was recorded at 9 degrees Celsius in Shahjahanpur and Agra.
The weather has taken a twist with the Westerly disturbances.
The temperature plummeted when the westerly winds crossed the state.
The winds, which had passed through the state, were about to approach the state again, the weatherman added.
In the last 24 hrs, the minimum temperature recorded at Agra was 9.4 degrees Celsius, Kanpur and Lucknow 10 degree each, Varanasi 10.1 degree, Gorakhpur 11.4 degree, Moradabad 12.2 degree and Bareilly 13.4 degree.
The Met department has forecast a dry weather for the state in the next 24 hrs.
