MCOCA court remands Pandey to police custody till Dec 1
Mumbai, Nov 26 (UNI) The special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court here today remanded Dayanand Pandey alias self-styled Swami Amritanand, a suspect in the September 29 Malegaon Bomb Blast case, to police custody till December one.
Earlier, special public prosecutor Rohini Salian told the court that the Anti-terrorism Squad (ATS) had enough evidence against Pandey. They have seized his lap-top and audio-video cassette of the meetings of all the accused, including one, who had hatched a conspiracy to eliminate RSS leaders.
The MCOCA Judge Y D Shinde upheld the prosecution's submission and remanded him to police custody till December one.
The Judge also granted permission to Pandey's advocate to meet him, after informing the investigating officer.
Pandey was arrested from Kanpur on November 12 by the ATS officers, for his alleged involvement in the Blast, that claimed six lives and injured several others.
Ten others, who were arrested in this case, including Sadhvi Pragnya Singh Thakur, suspended Lt Col Prasad Purohit and others, have been remnded to judicial custody till December three.
