LJP agitation for Poorvanchal to be a separate state
Jaunpur, Nov 26 (UNI) The activists of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and Poorvanchal Rajya Gathan Morcha here today carried out a joint protest, demanding separate statehood for Poorvanchal.
Holding the Centre and Uttar Pradesh government responsible for the backwardness of Poorvanchal, LJP leader Raj Kumar Ojha said the step motherly treatment of both the governments has marred the development in the region.
It was sad to note that the Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the BJP worked further selfish gains and paid little attention towards the region, he added.
The half-hearted efforts of the MLAs and MPs of Poorvanchal was another matter of concern, Mr Ojha alleged.
