IPICOL recommends to allot 8000 acres of land for Mittal Steel plant
Bhubaneswar, Nov 26 (UNI) The state-owned Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation Ltd (IPICOL) has recommended to allot 8000 acre of land to Mittal Company to set up a steel plant in Keonjhar district, Steel and Mines Minister Pradip Kumar Amat told the House today.
To a question of Mr Bikram Kesari Verma (BJD), Mr Amat said the company had applied to Industrial Development Corporation (IDCO) for 77,555.019 acre of land for the proposed steel plant.
IDCO had submitted the land acquisition proposal to the Keonjhar District Collector, the Minister said.
Mr Amat said the proposed plant on completion would create more employment opportunities and raise the revenue of both state and the Central government.
It would also help in the development of education, communication and peripheral development of Keonjhar district, the Minister said.
