Khagaria, Bihar, Nov 25(UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today reiterated that the NDA government was committed to uplift the people belonging to lowest strata of the society.
Addressing a rally here, Mr Kumar said the state government was executing various schemes for the welfare of the under- privileged section of the society, in accordance with the ideology of father of the nation.
''On the basis of survey conducted by several agencies, the glaring fact came to light that the benefits of government sponsored welfare schemes had not percolated to the grass root level'', the Chief Minister said and added the state government was now concentrating on welfare and uplift of those sections who were still deprived of the fruits of development.
Mr Kumar said the dwelling units under Indira Awas Yojana(IAY) were being provided only to those who had already suitable plot of land. The poor having no such land were not getting the benefits of IAY. The state government had decided to provide land to landless poor to enable them to get the benefit of IAY, he added.
