Call girl ring booker at center of Governor Spitzer scandal sentenced

New York, Nov,.26 : Tanya Hollander, 36, the woman charged with arranging prostitutes for the Emperor's Club VIPs, including former New York Governor Eric Spitzer, was sentenced to a year's probation Tuesday.

Manhattan Federal Judge Deborah Batts went easy on the holistic health counselor from Rhinebeck, citing the federal investigators' decision not to charge several co-conspirators in the Emperors Club VIP case.

"It is clear to the court that the role this defendant played was minimal," the New York Daily News quoted Judge Batts, as saying.

Spitzer's name never came up, but Hollander's lawyer said Judge Batts clearly was referring to the disgraced ex-governor, known as "Client 9" in court papers.

"Tanya is eager to resume her health practice and continue helping others," her lawyer Michael Farkas said.

Prosecutors recommended a term of six months home confinement in exchange for Hollander's August guilty plea.

"I just want to say thank you very much your honor," Hollander told Judge Batts. "I know this was a lot for you to read," she added.
