Gang of thieves busted, three held
Rupnagar, Nov 26 (UNI) Rupnagar district Police claimed to have busted a gang of thieves by arresting its three members in Nangal area.
Giving this information, Rupnagar SSP R N Dhoke said that these arrests were made during a special campaign started by police following spurt in thefts in Nangal area.
He said the three members of the gang were arresred during a Naka and a stolen motorcycle was seized from them.
During interrogation they disclosed that the gang comprised ten members who were living at Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana and used to commit thefts outside these districts.
The SSP said the gang was active in Nangal and Una area of Himachal Pradesh.
He said the gang members belong to Guna district of Madhya Pradesh and had settled in Punjab. They were doing the work of balloon selling.
