Panaji, Nov 26 (UNI) The Federation of Film Societies of India (FFSI) has chalked out various programmes for the upcoming golden jubilee celebrations of the Film Society Movement in the country, FFSI General Secretary Sudhir Nandgaonkar said here today.
Speaking as part of the open forum on the ''Celebrations of 50 years of Federation of Film Societies in India'', he said the FFSI would publish a book on 50 years of the Film Society Movement in India and also produce a 30-minute digital film on the journey of film societies.
An international seminar on the Film Society Movement would also be held as part of the celebrations in New Delhi and Kerala, Mr Nandgaonkar said.
All five regions of the federation will celebrate the golden jubilee of the Film Society Movement, he said and added the celebrations in the south region would start on December 13 at the International Film Festival of Kerala.
Noted film maker Adoor Gopalakrishnan would launch the celebrations, he said.
The eastern region celebrations would be inaugurated by West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya on December 18. Many veterans would also be facilitated at the function, the General Secretary said.
As part of the celebrations, a world cinema section would also be held, Mr Nandgaonkar said.
