Bhopal, Nov 26 (UNI) Elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure that assembly polls in 230 constituencies of Madhya Pradesh are held in free and fair manner tomorrow.
''Static and mobile forces have been deployed at all 47,214 polling booths in the state besides additional forces at critical booths, which have been identified through vulnerable mapping, to ensure free, fair and peaceful polling,'' Mr Mathur told reporters here today.
Mr Mathur said more than 10,000 micro-observers have been deputed for the first time apart from regular observers to make polling more accountable.
He said 99 per cent Elector Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) had been issued till this evening. Videography were arranged for the non-EPIC holders and fingerprints would be taken from them.
More than 50,000 troublemakers had been identified throughout the state and an alert sounded in all the districts. The Election Commission would not hesitate to take decision for repolling if any untoward incident was reported.
He said mock polling would be held from 0700 hours tomorrow in each booth. Presence of agents from political parties would be mandatory this time. The report of mock polling would be submitted to the District Collector-cum-District Returning Officer.
