Dropped Vaughan eyes return to beleaguered England side for two Tests

By Staff

London, Nov 26 : Former England skipper Michael Vaughan who was dropped for India tour, has said that he was prepared to play in the upcoming two-Test series against India, if required.

The English cricketer, who is also presently in India, said he was ready to help out England captain Kevin Pietersen, especially when the tourists are being thrashed by the hosts in the ongoing ODI series.

England is currently 0-4 down in the seven-match ODT series.

Vaughan said he expects a call in case some of the players get injured. "That's why I've come to India. I'm not stupid and I know I'm in the right place at the right time if there are a couple of injuries. KP hasn't said anything about wanting me back. He's told me to enjoy my cricket and that's when I generally deliver the goods," The Sun quoted Vaughan as saying.

He further said that a couple of wins in the remaining three ODI will give the touring side a boost. "Kevin will make mistakes but will learn from them. They'll need some kind of victory in the next three one-dayers to give them a boost before the Test series. I've not given Kevin much advice. He will be his own man," he added.
