One dead, two injured in Sopore grenade attack

Srinagar, Nov.26 : One person was killed and two were injured in grenade attack in Sopore on Tuesday.

According to a police press release,militants hurled a grenade upon National conference candidate Mohammad Ashraf Ganie near the village of Brat Kalan in Sopore District. They said that the grenade missed the intended target and exploded on the road.

Fourteen-year-old Afaq Ahmad Ganie succumbed to his injuries in a hospital, while Riyaz Ahmad Pandith,18, and Mudasir Mushtaq Ganie, also 18, sustained injuries and were recovering in hospital.

Police said that they have registered a case in connection with the incident.
