Concern over security of priests, nuns in CBI custody
Kottayam, Nov 26 (UNI) A joint meeting of the Pastoral Council and 'Vaideeka Samithi' of the Kottayam Archdiocese of the Knanaya Catholic Church today expressed concern over security to lives of the Priests and Nuns who were being interrogated by the CBI in the wake of the death of former ASI V V Augustin, who was also questioned in connection with Sister Abhaya Case.
Arch Bishop Mar Mathew Moolakkattu presided over the meeting.
The church will observe December 1 as a prayer day in the Archdiocese to express solidarity with the agony of those in CBI custody and for revealing the truth behind the mysterious death of Sister Abhaya.
The meeting also expressed concern and pain over the arrest of innocent priests and Nuns in connection with the death of Sister Abhaya.
The meeting demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the death of Sister Abhaya in the wake of the news of outside interference in the inquiry.
