Bus conductor gets life imprisonment
New Delhi, Nov 26 (UNI) A city court today sentenced a bus conductor to life imprisonment for fatally attacking a school student, which resulted in his death, following an altercation over purchase of ticket.
Kishan, a bus DTC conducter had an altercation with the school student on February 7, 2001.
After the heated argument, the conductor hit Pawan Tyagi's head with a rod, due to which he succumbed to injuries after 17 days in a hospital.
Pawan was returning from Trinagar area, where he had gone to see his class 10 exam centre.
The driver of the bus was acquitted by the court due to lack of evidence.
Additional sessions Judge R K Jain also imposed a fine of Rs 3000 on the convict.
