Bangladesh wins by 5 wickets to stun India in 20-20 ICL World Series

Ahmedabad, Nov 25: Ridding on an unbeaten knock of 70 runs of Shahriar Nafees, Bangladesh stunned host India by winning the day-night 20-20 match by 5 wickets in ICL World Series Cup being played at the Sardar Patel stadium here tonight.

Chasing the victory target of 165 runs set by host India ICL in stipulated 20 overs, Bangladesh attained it at the loss of five wickets, with three balls to spare.

Bangladesh 's victory was carved out by Nafees with his unbeaten knock of 70 runs made in just 54 balls with help of four boundaries and four sixes. In his quest to secure victory for his side, Nafees was well supported by opener Aftab Ahmed and middle order batsman Alok Kapali, who personally contributed 26 and 44 runs respectively.

Earlier batting first, after loosing the toss, host India made 164 runs for the loss of nine wickets in stipulated 20 overs.

The middle order batsmen played well each scoring a good but, barring R Sathis, who made 44 runs in just 20 balls with two boundaries and four sixes, all of them failed to capitalised on their advantage.

Nafees was declared Player-of-the-Match. Owing to the victory Bangladesh has secured two points from the match.
