New Delhi, Nov 25 (UNI) In a unique and laudable gesture, BJP candidate from New Delhi Assembly constituency Vijay Jolly today paid a visit to Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who is the Congress candidate from the seat, to seek her blessings.
Accompanied by his wife and children, Mr Jolly, who went to the Chief Minister's residence at 3, Motilal Nehru Marg this morning, sought her vote and blessings.
Talking to reporters after meeting the Chief Minister, Mr Jolly said,''I came to seek the blessings of Sheilaji for the November 29 Assembly polls and also seek her vote as she is a voter of this constituency.
Being younger to her, it is also my right to seek the blessings of Ms Dikshit.'' Mr Jolly said during the meeting with Ms Dikshit, which lasted for ten minutes, he raised various issues affecting the New Delhi constituency, to which she gave a patient hearing.
At the same time, he promised to give the Chief Minister a tough fight from the seat in the state Assembly polls.
''I am confident that I will be able to give her a strong fight in this elections,'' Mr Jolly said.
A sitting MLA from the Saket Assembly segment, Mr Jolly was a surprise nomination by the BJP for the New Delhi assembly seat.
