Six booked for hurting religious sentiments in Gurdwara

Fatehgarh Sahib, Nov 25 (UNI) Six persons have been booked for allegedly hurting religious sentiments at Raipur Riyan village Gurdwara near Amloh in this district.

According to police, on the occasion of martyrdom of 9th Sikh Guru, Guru Teg Bahadur, yesterday, a scuffle took place between two groups when the Gurdwara managing committee members raised objection when some persons wearing track suits tried to distribute 'Degh' (Parshad) to the devotees in the Gurdwara.

In the clash, the Gurdwara managing committee president, Sukhdev Singh sustained injuries.

Later, on his statement, the Amloh police registered a case against Harpreet Singh, Bakhish Singh, Rajwinder Singh, Devinder Singh, Baljit Singh, Major Singh under sections 295-A (for hurting religious sentiments), 296, 323, 148, 149 of the IPC, however, no arrest has been made so far.
