Bhubaneswar, Nov 25 (UNI) ''Samrudha Orissa'', a regional political outfit today announced to field 50 per cent women candidates to contest the coming state Assembly elections.
Samrudha Orissa president Jatish Chandra Mohanty told mediapersons after a state party conference of its women wing here that the party would also appoint women as office-bearers in fifty per cent of posts of the party's various frontal organisations.
Mr Mohanty claimed that if his party came to power, it would check ''goonda raj'' and control terrorism within six months.
The party resolved to set up fast track courts for quick disposal of cases relating to atrocities on women within three months and provide free education to bright eligible girl students.
The party promised to initiate steps to help the women exercise their rights and earn at least Rs 100 per day to empower the women.
