Salem, Nov 25: Withdraw the power cuts, chanted the 1000 unit members of the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) at a demonstration here.
The participants claimed that the power cut had rendered many industries sick and placed all sections of the people under severe strain. They decried the delay in disbursing welfare assistance under the Unorganised Sector Welfare Boards and urged that minimum wages be fixed at Rs. 7000.
