President provides healing touch to family of slain scribe Soumya

Ho Chi Minh City, South Vietnam, Nov 25 (UNI) True to the spirit of a mother's feeling, President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today provided a healing touch to the sister of slain journalist Soumya Vishwanathan of the private TV news channel Headlines Today, who met her here to seek her intervention for speedy investigation into the case.

Ms Shoba Vishwanathan, an executive in Standard Chartered Bank here drew the President's attention towards slow progress in the case, saying even more than two months after the killing of her sister, none had been arrested so far.

Providing an immediate healing touch, the President, while offering her condolence, assured that the concerned officials of the Home Ministry would be instructed to act expeditiously and, if necessary, she would also speak to Home Minister Shivraj Patil for his personal intervention in the case.
