6 denied bail in Mumbai rave party case
Mumbai, Nov 25: A metropolitan court on Monday, Nov 24 denied bail to six youths who were tested positive for drugs at a rave party that was busted in Oct and were sent to judicial custody till Dec 8th. It was a shock to the youths as the drug peddlers arrested along with them were already out on bail.
The detainee's lawyer said, "Office of Narcotics cell has gone back on their word. They had assured that these people are going to be treated as victims. The second unfortunate part is when we prayed for bail, the Office of Narcotics cell through their Public Prosecutor (PP) have opposed bail and they have said they wanted judicial custody of these children."
The verdict may effect other youths who will be produced in court later. Police arrested as many as 232 youngersters in a raid at the pub Bombay 72 degrees east in Juhu in Oct. Sources say that these include sons and daughters of Bollywood filmstars. Of these, 109 have been tested positive.
Vishwas Nagre-Patil, Anti-Narcotics Cell DGP said that the girls' reports which are pending will come by 15 days.
