India take pole position in South Asian shooting

Lahore, Nov 25 (UNI) India swept away all the six gold medals at stake on the third day of fourth South Asian Shooting Championship at Gun Club, Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad.

In the 50m pistol event for men (Individual), Satendra Kumar grabbed the gold with total points of 647.8, while silver went to Viraj Singh (635.5pts) and Omkar Singh aggreagated 634.8 to take the bronze medal yesterday.

In the women's 25m pistol event, (individual) Shweta Chowdhry with total points of 766.6 bagged the gold medal, while the silver medal went to Annuraj Singh (766.5pts) and the bronze medal also went to India's Anisa Syed (759.7pts).

In the 10m Air Rifle event for women, it was again an all India show as all the three medals at stake went to Indians.

India finished the three-day competition at top with 12 golds, 11 silvers and 5 bronze medals while the hosts Pakistan could claim only one silver and two bronze medals to finish second.

Results: 50M Pistol Men (individual): Gold - Satendra Kumar 647.8 (India), Silver - Viraj Singh 635.5 (India), Bronze - Omkar Singh 634.8 (India). Team event of 50M Pistol Men: India 1641, Pakistan 1592, Bangladesh 1442.

25M Pistol Women (individual): Gold - Shweta Chowdhry 766.6 (India), Silver - Annuraj Singh 766.5 (India), Bronze Anisa Syed 759.7 (India). Team event of 25M Pistol Women: India 1705, Sri Lanka 1659, Pakistan 1691.

10M Air Rifle Women (individual): Gold - Radhikha Barale 495.3 (India), Silver - Priya Agarwal 494.1 (India), Bronze - Lajja Gauswami 491.4 (India). Team event of 10M Air Rifle Women: India 1176, Bangladesh 1161, Pakistan 1136.
