HASC beat Pune Football Club 1-0

Bangalore, Nov 25 (UNI) Pune Football Club went down to local outfit Hindustan Aeronautics Sports Club (HASC) (0-1) in the first encounter of the Group 'B' 30th Federation Cup Preliminary Knock Out match played at the Bangalore Football Stadium here today.

At half time the hosts led by 1-0.

The lone goal of the match was scored by midfielder Ravichikanna Prakash in the 37th minute encashing on a corner kick by Rajendra Prasad.

The hosts could have increased the lead. But captain Xavier Vijay Kumar missed a couple of chances without properly aimimg at the net, they could not do enough.

The Pune lads played an agressive game. But they failed to score as they concentrated more on defence. Besides, striker Asim Hassan, who had a clear chance of getting equaliser, missed as his kick went out of range in the 88th minute.

The visitors, in a desperate mood, were seen kicking the ball at the goal post from long range giving sufficient time for HASC to scuttle their attempts.

The visitor's attempt to save the match by brining in three substitutes went in vain as hosts, with over 4,000 strong home crowd supporting them, concentrated more on defence.
