Sydney, Nov 25 (UNI) Cricket Australia (CA) is continuing to investigate the details of an incident involving all-rounder Andrew Symonds and others at a Brisbane Hotel on Sunday evening.
Symonds was involved in a confrontation with a patron in a Brisbane hotel. He was reportedly drinking with players from the Australian rugby league side following the cricket team's 149-run win against New Zealand at the Gabba.
General Manager (CA) Michael Brown continues to interview a wide range of those involved in the incident, including taking eyewitness account detail, and a report to CA Chief Executive Officer James Sutherland is expected to be finalised early today.
A final recommendation will be determined after Sutherland receives the final written report, and he and Andrew Symonds have an opportunity for first-hand discussion, as well as taking feedback from captain Ricky Ponting and coach Tim Nielsen, who had each left Brisbane before the incident.
He is hoping that those discussions can be finalised by this evening after Symonds has travelled from Brisbane to Adelaide.
Sutherland said he hopes to be able to make a public statement while he is in Adelaide today for a scheduled visit to that city prior to the 3 Mobile Test match between Australia and New Zealand.
