Morena, MP, Nov 22 (UNI) In a scathing attack on the ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi today said the BJP is raking up the issue of terrorism in order to hide its own failures.
Mr Gandhi, while addressing an election meeting here, said the BJP had failed to bring about development of Madhya Pradesh and other states although it come to power riding on these promises.
''Since the BJP did not do any development work, it was raising the militancy issue to cover up its inefficiencies,'' he said.
The Congress leader said the BJP was making promises that it will uproot terrorism but will fail because it is unable to deliver its promises.
Referring to development works carried out by the Centre, he said, ''The Congress is the lone party, which carries out development, while the BJP has the habit of reneging on promises.'' He claimed that the BJP had objected when he made effort to closely observe life and problems of poor and tribal in villages in the past few days.
Mr Gandhi appealed to the people to cast their vote for the party that will truly usher in development work after understanding problems of poor, tribal and deprived sections.
Congress party's Madhya Pradesh incharge general secretary V Narayan Sami, state Congress President Suresh Pachouri and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also presented their views.
