Abhiman Pratishthan to hold children's drawing competition
Thane, Nov 25 (UNI) Abhiman Pratishthan today announced the 12th edition of late Prabhodhankar Thackeray Memorial drawing competition for children will be held here on November 30.
Addressing a press conference here, senior leader of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and the first city mayor Satishchandra Pradhan said, ''This year, organisers have decided to give winners an opportunity to interview the MNS President Raj Thackeray. Besides, the usual cash reward and certificates.'' The former Member of Parliament (RS) said it will be a rare experience for the kids to interview a prominent personality and also win the award.
Around 25,000 students are likely to participate in this year's competition, he said.
Mr Pradhan said the drawing and colouring competition will be held for five different groups in the morning and the prize distribution will be held in the evening. Raj Thackeray will be the chief guest on the occasion.
The competition had started at the Datta Mandir in Naupada with just around 50 participants 11 years back, he informed.
The head masters of around 100 schools from Thane, which had recorded more than 95 per cent pass percentage in the last SSC exams, would also be honoured, he added.
