Top athletes to vie in YMCA meet

Mumbai, Nov 24 (UNI) Leading athletes from all over Maharashtra will feature in the 33rd Bombay YMCA Open State-Level Annual Athletic Meet to be held at the University Stadium from November 28 to 30.

Athletes from leading clubs in the city and the rest of the state will feature in the competition, that includes categories for men, women, boys and girls Under-18, Under-16, Under-14, Under-12, Under-10 and Under-8, a release issued here today stated.

Among the 1,800 athletes to watch out for are National Inter District 100m gold medallist Jui Dadadkar of St Agnes', 110m hurdles Junior State and National record holder Sabha Bhagat of Sports Authority of India, National Inter District 200m and 60m gold winner Sanaya Ichhaporia of Christ Church and National Inter District long jump gold medallist Jhanvi Madkaikar of Ace Athletic Club.

The D B Puthran Memorial Trophy and scholarship will be awarded for boys and girls Under-16 for outstanding performances, the release added.
