Melbourne, November 24 : A carpet snake endured week-long torment before a mechanic found it tangled in a car's air-conditioning fan.
Noel Padgham, who had often been in awe regarding the clunking noise, had taken her car to air-conditioning mechanic Kit Carson at Cheaper Car Air-Conditioning.
The 59-year-old opened the vent expecting the usual piece of paper might have slipped from the back of the glove box.
However, he instead he found a dizzy one-meter carpet python in the former Territory Minister's car.
"Him and I both got a jump. He'd been spinning around like a bloody washing machine, but the end of his tail must have been hanging out - it was all feathered and ratty," News.com.au quoted him as saying.
Carson dipped the little python in water before taking it to Yarrawonga's Ark Animal Hospital, where the vets, who had been forced to amputate about 5cm of its withered tail, assured of its complete recovery.
